Films worth your evening
Stop scrolling.
Start watching.
Filmatic learns what you actually like — one swipe at a time — and hands you films worth your evening. No algorithm optimising for someone else's catalogue.
No ads. No card. Works in your browser.
You spent twenty minutes browsing and went to bed.
Every streaming service is built to keep you in the app, not to help you decide.
How it works
Three swipes in, it starts to know you.
Swipe.
Liked, seen, save, skip. Four gestures, no forms.
It learns.
Every swipe sharpens a model of your taste — not the average viewer’s.
It knows.
Open it, get three films you’ll actually finish.
What you get
Built to end the scroll, not extend it.
A taste model, not a top-10 list.
Built from what you like, not what’s trending.
Every service, one place.
See what’s streaming where, without opening five apps.
No ads. Ever.
Nobody pays us to put a film in front of you.
Your lists, finally useful.
Saved, seen, loved — searchable, sortable, yours.
Made for the dark.
Designed to be used at 11pm with the lights off.
Yours to leave.
Export everything, delete everything, any time.
Why trust it
Nobody pays us to change your mind.
No advertising, no paid placement
No studio, distributor or streaming service can buy a slot in your recommendations. There is nothing to sell, so there is nothing to skew.
Your taste data stays yours
Export it or delete it whenever you want, from inside the app. We do not sell it and we do not share it with advertisers.
Built by people who watch too many films
This exists because we got tired of the twenty-minute scroll ourselves. It is the tool we wanted, built the way we wanted it.
Already use Letterboxd?
Letterboxd remembers what you watched.
Filmatic decides what's next.
They're different jobs, and Letterboxd is very good at its one. It's a diary and a community — it was never built to tell you what to put on tonight. Plenty of people use both, and that's the point.
Questions
The things people ask first.
Is Filmatic free?
Yes. Filmatic is free to use and carries no advertising. You can create an account, swipe, build your lists and get recommendations without paying anything.
How is this different from Letterboxd?
Letterboxd is a film diary and a social network — it is very good at recording and reviewing what you have already watched. Filmatic does the opposite job: it works out what you should watch next. Plenty of people use both.
How does Filmatic learn what I like?
Every swipe — liked, seen, save, skip — updates a model of your taste held against your account. Recommendations come from that model rather than from what is trending or what a streaming service wants to promote. You can reset it at any time from your settings.
Does it tell me where a film is streaming?
Yes. Filmatic shows which services carry a film in your country, so you can go straight to it instead of checking five apps. Availability data comes from JustWatch and changes often.
Do I need to connect a streaming account?
No. Filmatic never asks for your Netflix, Prime or Disney+ login. It reads nothing from your streaming accounts — you tell it which services you have, and it filters recommendations to those.
Can I delete my account and my data?
Yes, from inside the app, in two taps, without emailing anyone. Deleting your account removes your swipe history, lists and profile. You can also export everything first.
Tonight, just watch something good.
Three swipes and it starts working. Free, no card, nothing to install.
