This policy explains what we store on your device, who stores it, and which parts you control. A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device so it can recognise it later. The same rules cover comparable technologies including local storage, session storage, pixels and device fingerprinting, and where we say “cookie” below we mean all of them.

We also use cookieless aggregate measurement on the website. It counts page views and referrers without storing anything on your device, without setting an identifier, and without following you between sites. Because nothing is stored on your device, the storage rules that require consent do not apply to it.
How consent works
- Before you answer, nothing optional loads. Not queued, not loaded and idle — inert until you allow it.
- Accepting and declining are equally easy, the same size, in the same place, one click each.
- Declining is remembered, on the next page and the next visit.
If your browser blocks local storage we cannot remember your answer, therefore we might ask again on the next page.
In the app
The app has to remember that you are signed in, and that storage is strictly necessary. It also keeps your settings and a copy of recently viewed titles on your device, so it opens quickly. The app sets no advertising cookies, and its product analytics store nothing on your device.
Some links in the app are affiliate links. When you follow one, the partner’s own site may set its own cookies to credit the purchase. Those are governed by the partner’s cookie policy, not this one, and we store nothing on your device for them.
Controlling cookies
Use the cookie settings on this website, or the privacy settings in the app. Every browser also lets you block or delete cookies, although blocking strictly necessary storage may prevent you from signing in.
